In 2010, we felt God moving on us to "Step it Up"
and in 2011, we saw God take us "Beyond the Now."
In 2012, we saw the Year of Fulfillment.
This year we look forward to the NEXT THING that God will do in our lives.
Every person has within themselves what it takes to receive fulfillment. We are working "from our Victory," not working for victory. Jesus did that for us. Now, we allow fulfillment of victory in our lives.
There is going to be opposition in life but it's what we actually do that makes a difference. God works through the work we do. We must
"Pursue" - which means to be actively engaged in something or to chase after something.
The pursuit takes action! What are you engaged in? Are you actively engaged in pursuing God? Seek God with all your heart. He has good planned for you! He thinks toward us "peace," "hope," and a "future." God's fulfillment is for you. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) Matthew 6:33 says to "Seek Him first!" Seek before your problems occur!
Pursue Him - Love God, love people!
This is your year!
We have been called to "Step It Up." We have seen God work in so many ways and accomplish step by step the vision placed on our hearts, not only to physically do more for God, spiritually seek Him more and to affect more for the Kingdom of God. Our walk was challenged to seek Him more,
In other words:
At Midwest, we are a TEAM working toward one goal, unified to present the Good News of Jesus Christ to our community and to the nations. Our desire is to present tools through Biblical teaching that will equip believers with knowledge and confidence, resulting in an empowerment to fulfill the purposes, plans and desires within their hearts.
"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me...He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, release from darkness for the prisoners. Isaiah 61
The vision of Midwest Ministries is to minister the Good News of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipling and training the entire family to serve God. As Jesus is the Light of the world, we believe that He shines through Midwest Ministries creating a Lighthouse in Bixby and surrounding areas. We are striving to bring the Gospel to all through the various ministries at Midwest. We are at work to fulfill this vision, enabling each member to find his or her place in the work of our local body.
Basically, we are to love God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matt. 22: 37-40). The vision is simple...
Love God, Love People and Disciple them. (Ephesians 4: 12)
The goal of our church is to teach life principles based on the Word of god and to empower this generation.
First, people need knowledge of the Word of God for a good foundation. By having two services each week, each having a different purpose, we will make available well-rounded instruction inspiring each one of us to become mature Christians affecting the lives around us.
Secondly, we believe that empowering this generation is an important facet to each individual life. We endeavor to create an atmostphere that will motivate the believers to step out in the power of God accomplishing His plans and purposes for their lives.
THE BIBLE - We believe that God's Word is the TRUTH. It lights our way and directs us as we live this life.
OUTREACH - We believe everyone matters to God, those who know Him and those who don't. Therefore, we believe that everyone should matter to the church as well.
DISCIPLESHIP - We believe that every person is called to be a witness for Christ and that God has an amazing plan for each one. We believe that the pastor leads the church and is equipping the believer with tools to empower him or her to be well prepared to serve others, to be built up in the faith and to walk from the victory that Christ desired for us.
RELATIONSHIP - We believe that lives are changed and developed through a true relationship with God and that relationship will postiviely affect the believers relationship with others.
GROWTH - We believe prayer, study of the Word of God and serving is vital to each person's growth in the Lord and that as we become mroe like Him (Jesus) we will affect others around us.
CHANGE - We believe that Midwest Ministries is to be a light in our community and we are passionate about bringing the Good News in a powerful and relevant way that gives an opportunity for people to experience the presence of God, participate in each service, learn to immitate Jesus' ways and to connect with people. The methods of sharing may change but the message of God stays the same.
THE SCRIPTURES - The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine (2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).
THE GODHEAD - Our God is one, but manifested in three Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, being coequal (Deut. 6:4;Phil. 2:6). God the Father is greater than all; the Sender of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter (John 14:28; John 16:28; John 1:14). The Son is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1; John 1:18; John 1:14). The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John 14:16;John 15:26).
